Check points

Each bundle has five known points: the elevation cell at the site origin and one cell inset 20 % from each corner. Each point gives its longitude and latitude, the ground height with its datum, the ellipsoidal height, and its coordinates in every frame the manifest states, so a reader can confirm it places every file where the manifest says. The check points sit beside each zip, not inside it, because adding a file would change the manifest’s hashes and the bundle would no longer be the one the platform built.

Licence notices

Every file in a bundle states its licence, its sources and its ODbL role (a database, a Produced Work, or neither) in Metadata/manifest.json. The README.md at each bundle’s root carries the per-file licence table, the credit line to use, and the offer of the database behind a published work. Each ODbL GeoPackage also carries its ODbL notice in its own gpkg_metadata.

Vector data from OpenStreetMap and Overture is under the Open Database License (ODbL); read Licensing for what you may do with each kind of file. The other sources keep their own terms, listed per bundle above and in each README.

Check a download

Validate a bundle with the open reference validator, mpb validate (the mantleplace-mpb package), which checks the schema, pointers, checksums, frames, licence roles, GeoPackages and names.
